InnerSelf NewsletterMay 1st, 2016 |
Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your Inner Self. Every year as we enter the month of May, I get a bit nostalgic. It is the month of my mother's birthday (if she were still alive, she'd be turning 98 on May 4th). It is also the month of my good friend Pierrette's (85th) birthday (I call her my adopted mother), and then more birthdays... Numerous old friends (you know who you are) as well as Joyce and Barry Vissell, long-time contributors to InnerSelf who are turning 70 this May (read Joyce's article below). Happy birthday to all May birthday celebrants out there. Having been raised up North, May was the month of Spring and flowers. Gone was the snow, and the warm weather was greeted with enthusiasm. This week we greet May with joy as Sarah Love writes about: The Magic of Beltane (May Day) and The Transformation of the World. We also look at our life's purpose as Joyce Vissell reminds us to Love, Serve, and Remember: Living With Purpose and Joy. And Bill Phillips shares about his life's calling in Spirits and Faith: Following Your Calling. Regular InnerSelf contributor Sarah Varcas tells us: "If life has been somewhat puzzling of late, throwing up questions and queries we’ve struggled to address satisfactorily, this passage of Mercury retrograde offers hope in the form of new information, opportunities thus far overlooked and some good old fashioned common sense to ground insights." (Mysterious Magic When Mercury Goes Retrograde) This week, we also bring you our monthly Alan Cohen article, a new author (AJ Earley), and an excerpt from the book "Peace and Where to Find It" (How To Live Consciously Using Breath and Body Awareness). Scroll down for the link to these and numerous more articles for the week. Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week. Marie T.
