As I was preparing the InnerSelf Daily Inspiration this evening (as I do most evenings), I reflected on the "focus of the day" for tomorrow which is: " I clear out the darkness from every corner of my mind." And it came to me that I have several ways that I use to clear the darkness from my mind when I find it has crept in. One is gardening, or spending time in nature. The other is silence. Another way is reading. And another way that lets my spirit soar is music and dancing.
Many times in the evening as I wind down my day at the computer, since I have a standing desk, I put on my headphones and play some music and dance in place as I do my "end of business day" routine. The music lifts up my spirit, the dancing is good for my blood circulation, and the whole experience clears out darkness from the corners of my mind.
And these days, I know that there can be extra darkness that can creep into our minds with concerns about the coronavirus, with social distancing, and fear about the future.
You may recall an old advertising slogan for The Yellow Pages telephone book: "Let your fingers do the walking...". So in these days of the Internet and of YouTube, I let my mouse do the walking. So I thought I'd share with you some songs that it led me to today. I hope you'll enjoy these beautiful voices and inspiring lyrics.
This first song is one I had never heard before, and may it be an anthem for us all in this time:

And let's balance out the female energy with a bit of male energy:
