InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration

July 31, 2024

The focus for today is:

I practice staying present and being still, receptive, open.

Today's inspiration was written by Lauren Walker:

The biggest tip you get once you start skiing off trail in the woods is this: “Look for the white spaces; don’t look at the trees. Where you look is where you go.”

And this, like many skiing metaphors, is a way forward through the challenges of life. Look for the openings; look for the space in between the difficulties. Look for the open doors. We need to learn and practice staying present and being still, receptive, open.

Energy wants to move and flow, and once you start to listen to it and tune in, it will take you on amazing journeys. At the end of the day, we’re all looking for magic. This includes the ability to affect change, sometimes miraculous change, in our lives at will.

This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of InnerSelf.com, wishing you a day of staying present and receptive (today and every day)

Comment from Marie: Silence is often lacking in our modern life. We have our ears attuned to the phone... beeps, tweets, rings... We have music playing, TV, videos, streaming, etc. etc. Yet silence is needed to be able to tune in to our Self, to our guidance, to our purpose. Silence is needed to tune in to who we are, and who we are meant to be. Start making it a practice to choose silence more and more in your life, and begin a quiet conversation with yourself rather than with the outside world. Get to know your true Self.

Our focus for today: practice staying present and being still, receptive, open.
