As the featured articles came together for this week, one a day, I (Marie) was interested to see that two of the 7 featured articles quoted the Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi: 

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, let me sow forgiveness.
Where there is doubt, let me sow faith...

And this is such a wonderful (and powerful) mantra or prayer to focus upon. Especially in these days where violence and cruelty have expanded their reach... The genocide in Gaza, the war in Ukraine, the criminality of politicians and oligarchs, and even the display of cruel and vindictive events on the news as well as part of our "entertainment" on TV and in movies. It is thus very important to ask for and thus commit to: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace... let me sow forgiveness, and let me have faith in a better future. 

This week's featured articles focus on "a better way", a different way of being, more humane and caring choices being made... both as individuals, and communally. We have allowed others, or the powers that be, to strip us of our power, our autonomy. It is time to reclaim responsibility for our choices, for our actions, and choose actions that are based on being "an instrument" of peace, of Love, and of forgiveness.  The choice is always ours.

Just as no one can "make you angry", or "make you happy", no one can "make you" take responsibility for yourself. That is a choice that comes 100% from you (as do all choices), and it is a choice that is so empowering, so liberating, that it is well worth taking. Go for it! Reclaim who you are... be vibrant, be real, be loving, be true to your inner core, your inner self, your inner divine piece of starlight. Let it shine and let it illuminate your world and make a difference all around you.

The only thing that dispels darkness is Light, the only thing that overpowers hate is Love, the only thing that neutralizes war is forgiveness. We have to do it ourselves, first in our individual lives... eradicating the darkness, the hate, and the "war" that is present in our own ego and in our relationships... and then the way shall be lit up and be clear. We will step away from the darkness as we exude so much Love and so much Light, that the darkness has no place to hide.
