InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration
February 12, 2025
This is Marie T. Russell, publisher of InnerSelf.com wishing you a day of joy (today and every day). We've been duped into thinking that happiness and joy come from big events or outstanding things. Yet if we base our happiness on these far and few between experiences, that leaves us in a lurch the rest of the time. To maintain a sense of happiness and joy throughout the day, we must find joy in the little things... a beautiful flower, someone smiling at us, a peaceful moment, a heart-warming connection, etc. Learning to recognize the beauty in everything, everyone, and every moment brings us a sense of joy and inner peace.
The focus for today is:
I choose to find joy
in life's simplest activities.
Today's message is inspired by an article written by Beth McDaniel:
Embrace the idea that daily tasks are opportunities for presence and connection rather than burdensome obligations.
For instance, the act of washing dishes can become soothing as you focus on the warmth of the water and the texture of the soap.
A simple morning walk might reveal the vibrant colors of nature or the calming rhythm of your footsteps. By reframing mundane chores as grounding rituals, you create a bridge to the present moment, fostering appreciation and finding joy in life's simplest activities.

The focus for today is: I choose to find joy in life's simplest activities.
